Detective Comics 1975/3 #445 (DC)
[RARE]
$30.00

Detective Comics #445, by DC. The title that started it all for Batman, many moons ago. This NEAR-MINT copy is the March 1975 GIANT-SIZE issue (100 pages) featuring artwork by the likes of Jim Aparo and Carmine Infantino. Aparo created the modern-day look of the Caped Crusader; the brooding, troubled, angry Batman of recent times (as opposed to the smiling, big-chested 50's and 60's Batman who ended his days alongside of Bat-Dog and Bat-Mite!) The stories are "Break-In at the Big House", "The Case of the Robot Spy", "The Human Bomb", "The Swiss Border Patrol", "The Case of the Crooked Gambler", "The Man who Slept 200 Years", "Ten Miles from Nowhere", "24 Hours from Death", "The Case of the Talking Shadows", and "The Touchdown Trap"...featuring Batman, Enlongated Man, Robin, Dr. Mid-nite, and more! Gang, you sure got a lot for 60 cents back in 1975!! Writers for this edition of Detective Comics are Len Wein, John Broome, Gardner Fox, and Bob Rozakis. Ads include Ideal's "Evel Knievel" playsets, and a great one for the now super-rare "Steve Scout" figure and toys from Kenner ("the only Boy Scout action figure!", the ad informs us). Shear escapism from the 70's...so very long ago. Only one in stock.
