GoBots "Herr Fiend" Super Transforming Robot (Tonka) *SOLD*
[RARE]
$85.00

(Sorry, out of stock...SOLD for $85.00) GoBots "Herr Fiend" Super Transforming Robot, from Tonka. Yet another great find from The Pop Top Shop! From 1984, Series 1 of the "Super GoBots" comes Herr Fiend, a sleek black "enemy robot sports car" (actually a Porsche 928S)...MINT IN SEALED BOX, NEVER OPENED, NEVER PLAYED...just as it was when it was freshly stocked on the shelves of Toys r Us, a quarter-century ago. One of the rarer of the large Super Gobots, Herr Fiend was originally made in Japan in 1983 by Popy and marketed as part of their "Scalerobo DX" line of toys. Repackaged for American kiddies, Herr Fiend became part of the famous GoBots toyline. It was also a rare case of Tonka doing something a bit original in that they ordered a color change to black from the Japanese blue issue. The car is a real beauty, chunky diecast metal and a great paint job. On the "Challenge of the GoBots" TV show, the Herr Fiend character was initially referred to as "Dr. Go" and had a thick German accent. For some reason Tonka backed out of that name and issued the toy as Herr Fiend. The Super GoBots boxes had front "doors" which opened as if hinged on the left, allowing you to view the packaged robot without waking him, being on display through a clear window panel. A nice toy by any collector's standards...make Herr Fiend yours today! Out of stock.
