1979 "Star Trek" Board Game (Milton Bradley)
[RARE]
$135.00

1979 "Star Trek" Board Game, from Milton Bradley. Here is a GREAT board game based on the much-heralded (and hyped!) feature film "Star Trek: The Motion Picture". In 1979 this long-awaited project saw the light, with the original cast of the NBC TV series (canceled 11 years prior to this film) reunited on a newly refitted Starship "Enterprise" with new challenges ahead...and a much bigger budget than the suits at the Biscuit Company let them have! The film was a huge hit despite a lumbering story, and spawned one of the most successful movie series ever, with numerous sequels continuing to this day. "Star Trek", indeed, lives! This game came out as part of the hooplah for the return of Kirk and friends...the fantastic artwork on the boxtop features portraits of the cast, Kirk, Spock, Bones, Uhura, a moustached Scotty (looking a bit like Harry Reems!) and the tragic actress Persis Khambatta, who memorably played Lt. Ilia, the bald Deltan alien. This game in The Pop Top Shop is in PERFECT CONDITION and has NEVER BEEN PLAYED, PIECES STILL BAGGED, BOARD PUNCH-OUTS STILL INTACT, ORIGINAL RUBBER-BANDS ON CARD DECKS. We are talking COMPLETE, Poptoppers! Box is in near-perfect condition also with some very minor shelf wear...it has been in storage, away from sunlight and the ravages of time for 30+ years. The description of the action as stated on the box: "Join the crew of the Enterprise on their travels through space. Set out from your home starbase, crossing from one starpath to another on your intergalactic voyage. Take part in their exciting missions seeking out unexplored stars. As you hunt for secret Klingon outposts and investigate Black Holes, be on the alert for attacks from Hostile Aliens! Complete three missions and head for your home starbase. The first starship commander to reach home wins this challenging space adventure game!" This game, in this immaculate condition, is a hard-to-find piece of Star Trek periphery...beam it into your collection today! Only one in stock.
