Back in 1983, a line of Popy and Bandai transforming robots were licensed to the Tonka Company in the US to be sold as...the GoBots! These were great little pocket-sized robots...well-made, diecast metal, highly detailed...but whereas they got the jump on the Takara Diaclone toys to be marketed in the US by almost a year, they were eternally doomed to second-place status when the Transformers began to be marketed...even though they were all from basically the same origins back in Japan. The Machine Robo "600 Series" toys, which became the GoBots, oftentimes involved more diecast metal than those smaller Takara entries (which were mostly plastic) that became the first Transformers. Here is one of the most famous of the GoBot line, "Cop-Tur", an enemy robot helicopter! This one is MINT-CONDITION, unopened, STILL ON ITS ORIGINAL CARD!! Cop-Tur was formally known as Machine Robo MR-04 "Gyro Robo" in Japan. Out of stock.
