The Human Torch 1975/3 #4 (Marvel)
[RARE]
$10.00

The Human Torch #4, by Marvel Comics. A Stan Lee - Jack Kirby masterpiece. Can you believe that the team at Marvel used to churn gems like this out on a monthly basis, meeting deadlines on numerous different titles...probably unaware that they were actually creating fine art woven into the fabric of our pop-culture psyche? Whew! That made Mr. Pop Top's brain hurt. Anyway, this MINT copy of The Torch's own title is from March 1975...and that's a long time ago, gang. Phenomenal Kirby artwork inked by Dick Ayers...nobody ever made the striations on Johnny Storm's body look more, well, "torchy". In this issue, The Torch is up against Paste Pot Pete and his glue gun (we don't make this stuff up, kids). There is also a story with the "first" Human Torch included, reprinted from a 1948 classic that was also drawn by the legendary Jack Kirby. Great ads from this over 30-year-old mag...you could send off for a 12" vinyl record to learn the secrets of Kung-Fu, learn how to "Hypnotize with any TV set - 1st evening" (depicting an unsuspecting young lass obviously lulled into a trance-like state while watching "Laverne & Shirley"...ready to do your bidding...and I don't mean ebay), "Indian - Lincoln cents by the pound", "Be Taller", and "Free One-Million Dollars Cash" (oh, how Mr. Pop Top regrets not responding to that one). Don't miss out on this title! Only one in stock. Flame on!!!
