(Sorry, out of stock...SOLD for $90.00) The Silver Surfer #18, by Marvel. A NEAR-MINT CONDITION copy of this, the final episode in the original Silver Age run, from September 1970. An incredible piece of comics history, this is the artwork of Jack Kirby at his pinnacle of talent. Inked by Herb Trimpe, the Surfer gleams in all of his chromed glory in each fantastic frame. The story in this climactic issue is "To Smash the Inhumans", penned by the legendary Stan Lee. I mean, gang, it just doesn't get any better than this. A classic. The lone (and lonely) herald of the evil, planet-consuming Galactus was Norrin Radd, who later turned upon his boss after encountering The Fantastic Four. After the initial 18 issue run of "Silver Surfer", the character achieved cult status with public outcry to "bring him back", very similar to what happened when NBC canceled "Star Trek". The Silver Surfer did eventually come back in various runs of the title, and was even the subject of a feature film. This is a great copy of a great title. Quoth the Surfer, "Mine is the power cosmic!!" Out of stock.
