Morlock 2001 #1, by Atlas. The little publishing house that couldn't, Atlas, brought us the deathless character Morlock in this February 1975 premiere issue, MINT-CONDITION by the way. Hummm...Morlock 2001 says the title. Mr. Pop Top doesn't remember 2001 being quite like this. Anyway, this issue features the origin of Morlock "The World's Strangest Superhero" as he battles against "scientific tyranny". Dude, lighten up! Morlock, having little to do with H. G. Wells' "Time Machine" creatures, was probably the weirdest hero in all of comics. This short-lived title features early Al Milgrom artwork, just before he leaped to fame with Captain Marvel, Peter Parker, and X-Factor. Later issues of Morlock 2001 featured Steve Ditko artwork, but it was too late to save the series. And ya gotta love the back cover which postulates: "Never Finished High School?"...how did they find out?! Anyway, an oddity from the swingin' 70's, and it's the frantic, fantastic, fun-lovin' FIRST ISSUE, true believers!! (Channeling my inner Stan Lee, there). Enjoy Morlock as often as you wish by clicking that big button over there that says "Add To Cart". Only one in stock.
