Vintage Dorvack "Gun Calibur" Robot Kit (Gunze Sangyo)
[RARE]
$45.00

Vintage Dorvack "Gun Calibur" Robot Kit, by Gunze Sangyo. Another fantastic imported 1/72 scale model kit by Gunze Sangyo from the Japanese Sci-Fi anime TV series "Dorvack". This robot is VV-54B Variable Machine Gun Calibur. "Special Armored Battalion Dorvack" ran for 36 episodes in 1983 on Japanese TV, and is best known for being the spawning ground for some of the characters that were later repackaged in the US as the first "Transformers"...the ones known as "Roadbuster" and "Whirl" came from this series. The plot concerned an invasion of Earth in 1999 (huh? Wha hoppen?? Did I miss it?) and the Dorvack Battalion's brave battle against the aliens, with a lot of the action taking place in...the Alps! (Hey, it was a good enough setting for Heidi and Hannibal. What's the matter, Horn?). The men fought in powered "suits" which were part battle-robot, part tank...and some could transform into other vehicular forms. A totally cool program, and spawned this short-lived series of CLASSIC Gunze Sangyo kits. Anyway, Poptoppers, this MINT-IN-BOX, PARTS STILL BAGGED AND TREED WITH ALL DECALS AND INSERTS plastic model kit from 25+ years ago is a great find these days...don't miss this one. Model box size 8" x 5 1/2". You will not find a greater selection of these vintage kits anywhere else on the internet. Another coup for The Pop Top Shop!! Only one in stock.
