(Sorry, out of stock...SOLD for $45.00) World War II Destroyer USS "The Sullivans" by Hawk. Another great model kit by America's oldest model company. This is the original 1967 kit, UNBUILT, complete with instructions and decals for making Destroyer DD537 USS "The Sullivans" of the US Navy. USS "The Sullivans" was commissioned to honor the memory of George, Francis, Madison, Joseph and Albert, the Sullivan brothers who died when their ship, USS "Juneau" (CL 52), sank after being torpedoed by a Japanese submarine during the battle for Guadalcanal on November 13, 1942. The actual Destroyer USS "The Sullivans" still exists as a museum ship in Buffalo, NY. The kit and box are in terrific condition for being 40 years old, with just a small pricetag on the side. There's a great painting of the destroyer engaged in a sea battle on the boxtop. This rarity is the ORIGINAL VERSION in opaque plastic, not the more recent Testor's reissue. Box dimensions are 4" x 7", with the actual model being 6 1/2" long. Out of stock.
