(Sorry, out of stock...SOLD for $45.00) GoBots "Mach-3" Transforming Robot, by Tonka. Back in 1983, a line of Popy and Bandai transforming robots were licensed to the Tonka Company in the US to be sold as...the GoBots! These were great little robots...well-made, diecast metal, highly detailed...but whereas they got the jump on the Takara Diaclone toys to be marketed in the US by almost a year, they were eternally doomed to second-place status when the Transformers began to be marketed...even though they were all from basically the same origins back in Japan. The GoBots were great, but their TV show tie-in was...well...it just didn't have the same feel to it as the Transformers; skewed a bit younger in its market. Here is one of the COOLEST entries in the GoBot line, "Mach-3", a "Guardian Robot Jet", actually based upon a U.S. Air Force F-4 Phantom! This one is MINT-CONDITION, unopened, STILL ON ITS ORIGINAL CARD! A really unique robot from a quarter-century ago (formally Machine Robo MR-51 in Japan). Out of stock.
