From 1985 comes this beautiful bug...once a Takatoku toy in Japan named "Beet Gugal", he was part of the "Armored Insect Battalion Beetras" series, which Bandai marketed after Takatoku folded. Clutching his gun and trident (no, no, no, not the chewing gum...it's a big fork) this fellow (who became a Decepticon under Hasbro's watch) makes a frightening impression. While not included in the original Transformers TV show, the Chop Shop character was later fleshed out to be a complete kleptomaniac who stole from friends and foes alike. This is a great transforming toy beetle in MINT CONDITION UNOPENED, UNPLAYED! (Box is taped on one side, tape split on the other, and there is a minor crease in the box at the top right corner.) Since none of the Deluxe Insecticons were based on Takara toys, there is little likelihood that they will ever be reissued by Hasbro or the current Takara company...leaving this minty GENERATION 1 find from almost a quarter-century ago, unique!
