(Sorry, Out of stock...SOLD for $1,950.00) Original Godaikin "Voltes V" Transforming Robot, by Bandai. What can I say, gang. I mean, this is it, the Holy Grail of DX's, a totally MINT-CONDITION, UNOPENED, UNPLAYED, UN-VOLTED-IN Voltes V from 1982. This coveted "blue box" Godaikin version of the Popy toy still has the original interior with the "Volt in Box" window insert. The condition of this large, heavy DX-size diecast metal robot is FACTORY-FRESH as it has never seen the outside world for over a quarter-century. C-10? No, Mr. Pop Top would give this one a C-11. Even the original rubber treads (yes, the 1982 rubber treads, not repros) are still intact!! Weapons, accessories, booklet, etc. are still bagged and factory-taped to the styrofoam nest. The "carrying-case" box is C-10 also, virtually blemish-free. Just simply incredible; you will probably never find another Voltes V in this condition on e-bay or whatever. Mr. Pop Top is this robot's original owner, and has kept it in his time capsule, lo, these many years. Voltes V comes from the legendary Japanese TV series of 1977 "Super Electromagnetic Machine Voltes Five" The plot concerned the adventures of The Voltes Team (pilots for individual components of the Voltes V robot) and their battles against alien invaders from planet Boazan. The theme of uprising and revolution against an oppressive regime got this show banned from the airwaves by the government when it ran in The Phillipines, probably because then-President Ferdinand Marcos took it a little too...personally. Tapes of distant broadcasts and Voltes V toys at that point became extremely sought after in the islands...creating the legend that is...VOLTES V. It never ran on US television, but this toy was marketed here briefly in the early 80's. Doing the math: the original 1982 high pricetag + no US television tie-in + general mismarketing = RARE, RARE, RARE! Investment-grade. (Out of stock)
