Original Godaikin "Daltanias" Transforming Robot *SOLD*
[RARE]
$1,275.00

(Sorry, Out of stock...SOLD for $1,275.00) Original "Daltanias" Godaikin Transforming Robot, by Bandai. This is an INCREDIBLE find...a MINT-IN-BOX "Daltanias" from 1982, complete with all of its (unopened) weapons and accessories. Pre-dating the "Transformers" craze by a couple of years, the Godaikin robots by Bandai-America were the top-of-the-line in the toymakers art, with cast metal parts and expertly-crafted transforming movements that actually worked (not always the case with some other transforming robots!). Daltanias was from the 1979 Japanese TV series "Future Robo Daltanias" which ran for 47 episodes overseas. The story line involved an invasion of Earth in the near future by the evil, enslaving Akron aliens (no, they weren't from Ohio). The only hope of the people of Earth was the super robot Daltanias to dispatch the Akron like a bad case of fleas. Daltanias was made up of a combination of three robots...Atlaus the robot, Gunper the spaceship, and Beralios the lion (Daltanias is believed to have been the first robot, in the world of anime, to have an animal as one of its combining elements). The pilot episode of the original Japanese show was translated into english and reworked as an episode of "Voltron" which aired in US markets...it was the plan to incorporate "Future Robo Daltanias" as a part of the Voltron series (just like Robotech was made up of several series stitched together) but only the first show ever aired. This classic toy by Bandai, Daltanias, is acknowledged to be one of the finest robots ever made. Box dimensions 18" x 13". Out of stock.
