(Sorry, out of stock...SOLD for $65.00) Wrestling Superstars George "The Animal" Steele Action Figure, by LJN. From the highly-collectible Wrestling Superstars series comes this classic figure of "The Animal". Released in 1985, the 8" highly-detailed figure is made of material that allows you to "Twist 'Em, Turn 'Em, Wrestle 'Em" as the packaging states! How can you pass up a bald guy covered with bodyhair, with a green tongue? Yes, a GREEN TONGUE...George Steele's frightening trademark (accomplished by eating green breathmints before each bout). George "The Animal" Steele's real name is Jim Myers, a former High School teacher from Michigan, who has had a long and successful career in pro wrestling. He even turned up in Tim Burton's 1994 movie "Ed Wood" (starring Johnny Depp and Martin Landau) playing the Tor Johnson character (remember "Plan 9 From Outer Space"? The hulking bald zombie with the far-away eyes was Tor Johnson). This Official World Wrestling Federation figure is MINT-ON-CARD and UNOPENED...a real rarity for ANY of the LJN wrestling figures...most of which ended up in the sweaty hands of 80's kids, being scraped and battered in many a sidewalk wrestling match while waiting for the school bus! This figure of "The Animal" even comes with a "free poster inside", and a collector card on the back with a great photo of George tearing the stuffing from a turnbuckle pad in the ring! The card states that "The Animal" is a "wild beast-like man who can speak only a few words" and "is immensely strong and suffers from violent fits of rage" but "can at times be as gentle as a puppy"!! Package dimensions 13" x 8". Out of stock.
