(Sorry, out of stock...SOLD for $45.00) Original 1968 "Pringle's" Potato Chip Can, by Procter & Gamble. Here's a real piece of pop-culture history, folks: the FIRST "Pringle's" Can from its introduction in 1968. "Pringle's Newfangled Potato Chips" as they were called then were revolutionary...a uniformly-shaped, stackable potato chip sold in a convenient, resealable can. "Perfect Potato Chips...in a Perfect Can" states the label. Presiding over the logo is "Julius Pringle" who to this day is on the can. The jealous competition soon sued Procter & Gamble for the use of the phrase "potato chip" as they felt that Pringle's (which contain only 50% actual potato and the rest...wheat 'n' stuff) did not meet the criteria for being called an authentic "potato chip". By 1975, the term was dropped from the packaging in favor of "potato crisps". Poptoppers, here is the original version of this now-iconic piece of American advertising and food history! The FIRST Pringle's can!! This can from 1968 is in PERFECT CONDITION and still has its original lid (marked "39 cents"). Only at The Pop Top Shop. You will regret passing this by...so go ahead and drop this into your "shopping cart" before someone else does! Uh oh, too late. Out of stock.
