1991 "Star Trek" "Galileo II" Shuttle Kit (AMT Ertl) *SOLD*
[RARE]
$45.00

(Sorry, out of stock...SOLD for $45.00) Star Trek Special Edition "Galileo II" Shuttlecraft Kit, by AMT Ertl. This is the specially-marked box "25th Anniversary of Star Trek" edition of the first Star Trek model kit (released in 1968), from 1991. This kit is MINT in FACTORY-SEALED PACKAGE with its "25th Anniversary" sticker intact! The "Galileo II" model was one of the first pieces of Star Trek merchandise to hit the shelves back in 1968, unfortunately just as the TV show was on the way out. Mr. Pop Top always loved, on the original TV series, whenever they would launch this loveably-clunky shuttlecraft from the bay of "Enterprise"...kind of made you think of what The Partridge Family's bus would look like in Space! May I digress...some of those original series Star Trek episodes, working with their limited-budget, shooting on a Desilu (formerly RKO Studios) soundstage, in retrospect were the most involving, thought-provoking, and memorable shows of the whole ST universe....gimme Kirk fighting a Gorn anyday, over some morose grey-looking ship interior DS9 show with grey-looking actors trapped in a grey-looking plot! Kirk and Spock and McCoy and Scotty, that's the heartbeat of Star Trek. And here is their big box-shaped shuttlecraft, for your collecting amusement! This version is now out of production. (Oops, you waited too long: Out of stock.)
