(Sorry, out of stock...SOLD for $15.00) Adventure Comics #436 by DC (National Periodical Publications), from December 1974. A MINT copy of this venerable old title, featuring a no-holds-barred tale of The Spectre, "The Gasmen and The Spectre" with artwork by the legendary Jim Aparo. There is also an Aquaman story, "The King is Dead; Long Live the King!" with early Mike Grell art! The Jim Aparo cover alone is terrific...harkening back to classic pulp magazine graphics...the Spectre watches as the tentacled grip of a giant octopus crushes the life out of some unfortunate but deserving Nazis. Great stuff to read on a stormy night! There's also a great 2-page ad for CBS TV's Fall lineup of Saturday morning cartoons, featuring Shazam, The Harlem Globe Trotters, Archie...even an animated Partridge Family show (thrown into the future world of the year 2200, cheerfully flying a Jetsons-like spaceship painted in Partridge Family bus colors). Don't pass up this MINT copy of this great issue. Magazine dimensions 10" x 7". Out of stock.
