Robin Williams "Popeye" Colorforms Play Set. From 1980, one of the few promotional items that came out in conjunction with Robert Altman's ill-received "Popeye" movie starring Robin Williams as the one-eyed sailor. Panned as it was back then, it still plays well as one of Robert Altman's frequent, and interesting, misfires. Who can forget the great song in which Shelley Duvall's Olive Oyl answers why she likes Bluto: "He's...LARGE". If you haven't seen this movie it bears a second look. This Colorforms set is INTACT, with all of the characters, etc. still on their original sheets, un-punched-out (is that a word?) The box has an issue with slight concavity, nothing to worry about...the great shot of Robin Williams and Shelley Duvall on the boxtop is alone worth the price of this item. Also pictured is Swee'pea, played in the movie by Robert Altman's grandson! Contains "39 plastic pieces, playboard and instruction booklet". A wonderful piece of 1980's pop culture. Only one in stock.
